Saint Francis set up the first "living" recreation of the birth scene
of Jesus, as a way to bring Christmas spirit to the local village and
people who lived there. The "First Nativity" had real animals
positioned outside of a cave on the outskirts of Greccio, Italy and a
life sized wax figure of the baby Jesus.
Saint Francis urged people to rejoice in the Savior's birth with his
living nativity!
This lovely 5" Fontanini St. Francis figure is made in Italy. It makes
a great addition to any Nativity Set and adds to the beautiful Holy
Night Story.
